ADP

Applied Data Center Specialist

About Course
The Applied Data Center Specialist (ADS) course is an advanced, program that expands on the core concepts covered in the ADP curriculum.
It focuses on the more advance implementation and detailed design and engineering calculations of critical data center domain, giving participants in-depth exposure to real-world applications, technical engineering strategies, and compliance-driven best practices.
Designed for professionals aiming to lead complex projects, ADS equips learners to plan, engineer, and optimize high-availability facilities that meet stringent international standards and evolving business demands.

Training Duration:

2 Days 9am to 5pm

Course Benefits

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Explore how to engineer Tier III/IV (Rated-3/Rated-4) data centers with fault-tolerant and concurrently maintainable architectures.
  • Learn advanced cooling methods—direct-to-chip liquid, immersion, rear-door heat exchangers, and adaptive containment—for modern high-density environments.
  • Develop the ability to design dual-feed power paths, scalable UPS topologies, generator synchronization, and load-management strategies that meet international standards.
  • Examine gas calculations, nozzle placement planning, and cross-zone detection logic to create fully compliant clean-agent suppression systems.
  • Apply structured cabling hierarchies defined in TIA-942-C and best practices for reliable, scalable, and audit-ready network infrastructure.
  • Explore how DCIM platforms and predictive monitoring enhance proactive operations and maintenance.
  • Gain knowledge to plan CCTV coverage, emergency lighting, and access-control systems aligned with EN 50600 and ISO 27001 requirements.
  • Study TN-S implementation, rack bonding, and integration with lightning-protection systems to achieve electrical safety.
  • Investigate environmental threats, apply air-purification technologies, and use monitoring standards to maintain long-term equipment reliability.
  • Build the capability to produce documentation, perform risk assessments, and conduct testing required for TIA-942, Uptime Institute, and EN 50600 certifications.
Audience

The Applied Data Center Specialist (ADS) course is designed for experienced professionals who are ready to advance from foundational knowledge to expert-level design and engineering of mission-critical facilities. It is ideal for:

  • Data Center Engineers and Architects seeking to perform detailed design calculations, implement high-density cooling, and plan complex power architectures.
  • Facilities and Operations Managers who need deeper technical insight to lead large-scale upgrades, retrofits, or greenfield projects aligned with international standards.
  • Consultants and Project Managers responsible for auditing, certifying, or delivering Tier III/IV (Rated-3/Rated-4) data center projects.
  • Electrical, Mechanical, and ICT Professionals aiming to specialize in the integration of power, cooling, fire suppression, and structured cabling systems.

Certification

After successful completion of the training, you will be awarded the course completion certificate along with the ADS certificate from IDCC.

What are the prerequisites for ADS certification?

To enroll in the ADS® class, participants are required to hold a valid ADP® certificate.
